FurnishHopeDC is a 501(c)3 that provides donated gently used furniture to residents of D.C.’s Wards 7 and 8 who are transitioning out of homelessness, escaping domestic violence, or are living without basic necessities. 

The mission of A Wider Circle is to advance equity in the greater Washington, DC region by fostering the exchange of goods, skills, and connections from neighbor to neighbor, and by engaging in advocacy to address the root causes of poverty. 

Founded in 1976, House of Ruth empowers women, children and families to rebuild their lives and heal from trauma, abuse and houselessness. Our continuum of services encompasses enriched housing for families and single women, trauma-informed childcare, and free counseling to empower anyone, regardless of gender, who is a survivor of trauma and abuse.

Since 1970, SOME has been a care provider and a beacon of hope to DC residents, including individuals, families, senior citizens, veterans and those affected by physical or mental health challenges. We meet their immediate and long-term needs through our comprehensive approach to health and wellness, known as Whole Person Care. By nurturing the complete human experience, we  help our clients create happier and healthier futures for themselves and their families. 

GreenDrop accepts your donations (thank you) on behalf of a local nonprofit, and pays our nonprofit partners for your stuff, helping them fund programs in your community.

 The MCHS Mission is to end animal homelessness through education, outreach and adoption, while saving lives and supporting the bond between pets and their families. 

Friends of the Library, Montgomery County (FOLMC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports Montgomery County Public Libraries (MCPL) and promotes lifelong learning in Montgomery County, MD. FOLMC provides supplemental funding, programs, and materials and equipment to MCPL to augment public funding. The organization also operates two used bookstores in Rockville and Wheaton, MD.
